Experienced commercial real estate guidance

For more than three decades, Sue Matejcak has represented institutional investors and corporate real estate clients on the acquisition, disposition, development and operation of commercial properties. Her work covers a wide range of properties, including office, industrial, retail, senior housing, medical office and mixed-use assets. Sue has significant experience:

  • Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements and related documents in connection with the transfer of real estate, including access agreements, option agreements, easement agreements, restrictive covenant agreements and shared use agreements.
  • Advising clients in connection with real estate aspects of alternative energy projects, including hydrogen power plants, solar facilities and hydroelectric projects.
  • Negotiating state and local governmental incentive agreements related to the location of new facilities for corporate real estate clients.
  • Preparing and negotiating leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants.

Successes

  • Acquisition of a 280,000-square-foot office building in Chicago on behalf of a nonprofit medical center.
  • Sale of a portfolio of eight grocery-anchored shopping centers in Florida on behalf of a major institutional investor.
  • Negotiation of governmental incentives for construction of a proposed 230,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on behalf of a food industry client.
  • Negotiation of office, industrial and retail leases across the country on behalf of a major institutional investor.
