Robyn Hansen helps clients with a variety of business law and franchise and distribution matters. Her focus includes business transactions, general corporate matters, real estate, asset acquisition and disposition, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A, and tax increment finance (TIF). Robyn also handles contractual matters such as management agreements, construction contracts, technology agreements, supply chain contracts, marketing and advertising agreements, and intellectual property (IP) licensing.
Clients benefit from Robyn’s experience as in-house chief legal officer and general counsel for several nationally known and publicly held franchise companies, as well as her ownership in several closely held private companies. - Purchaser’s lead counsel on $3.8 billion public-to-private acquisition of national hotel chain.
- Purchaser’s co-counsel and due diligence (brand) lead on $26 billion public-to-private acquisition of international hotel chain.
- Managed all legal aspects regarding site purchase, permitting, zoning, finance, vendor, construction, management contracting and franchising for 112 hotels and 16 restaurants for a single privately held entity.
- Managed franchise law compliance for a team of 32 franchise developers.
- Represented multiple landowners in long-term lease and use contracts for a regional solar farm development.
- Served as senior vice president and general counsel for a publicly held hotel company with over 800 hotels.
- Prepared, wrote and filed hundreds of franchise disclosure documents (FDD) ranging from startups to well-established international franchise companies.
