Patrick Murphy is a trial lawyer and experienced advocate who represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States. With a focus on representing corporate policyholders in insurance coverage disputes, Patrick also advises companies in a variety of industries in other complex business litigation. His practice includes:

Experience in Action
- Representing policyholders in all industries recovering insurance proceeds under a full range of policies, including CGL, D&O, professional liability, property and cyber policies.
- Serving as national coordinating and trial counsel in product liability property damage suits across the country.
- Defending class actions, including those alleging breach of warranty, business torts and other claims.
Successes
- Prosecuted a manufacturer’s claims to more than $80 million in insurance limits for underlying asbestos personal injury lawsuits.
- Represented an energy company in a first-party coverage dispute arising out of property loss in excess of $50 million.
- Represented a construction company in a first-party coverage dispute arising out of an explosion that caused multi-million-dollar property loss.
- Represented a financial institution in a coverage dispute arising out of underlying consumer class actions.
- Represented a direct sales company in a coverage dispute arising out of underlying securities class actions.
- Prosecuted a manufacturer’s claims for coverage and bad faith arising out of insurers’ refusal to defend and indemnify the company against third-party environmental claims.
- Defended a company involved in marketing and administration of a supplemental insurance program in a series of consumer class actions involving alleged violations of more than a dozen state consumer protection statutes.
- Defended a manufacturer involved in consumer class actions alleging violations of New York, California and Wisconsin consumer protection statutes.
