About Jacquie

Jacquie Chávez focuses on complex civil litigation, internal and government investigations, bankruptcy and restructuring, and labor and employment disputes. She has experience representing various clients such as colleges and universities, debtors, creditors and investors. Her other experience includes:

  • Drafting pleadings, dispositive motions and briefs.
  • Managing discovery.
  • Drafting outlines for government regulators.

Jacquie also is committed to pro bono work, where she focuses on immigration and civil rights.

Jacquie works collaboratively with her clients on every matter and enjoys maximizing her knowledge of their industry to most effectively advise them. She aims to make complex legal and technical concepts accessible to keep clients informed throughout and, always ready to advocate for her clients, she approaches disputes with an eye for resolution.

  • Represented health care trade association in impact litigation related to ERISA preemption of state law.
  • Assisted manufacturer of arms and ammunition products in U.S. Department of Justice criminal and civil investigations.
  • Represented a foreign-sovereign in a multi-billion-dollar international arbitration dispute with oil company.
  • Represented a foreign-based construction company in its prosecution of breach of contract and fraud claims in connection with construction of schools and clinics. 
  • Advised numerous unaccompanied refugee children in petitions for special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS) and legal permanent resident status.
