Eric Wanner counsels clients across the country on a wide array of commercial real estate transactions. He helps them develop, acquire, sell, lease, restructure and finance developments such as luxury multifamily communities, office buildings, retail centers, industrial parks, renewable energy projects, data centers and senior living facilities. Eric's experience includes the representation of institutional investors and developers in national and local joint venture transactions.
Eric is the national vice chair and Arizona chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.
Experience in Action
- Equity development work, including the representation of institutional investors and developers in national and local real estate joint venture development transactions. He handles preparation and negotiation of joint venture agreements, development agreements and other venture documentation.
- Purchase, sale and development transactions, including the representation of property owners, investors, lenders, lessees and other stakeholders in new project developments, purchases and sales of developed assets, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, debt and equity financing, and leasing matters.
- Preparing and negotiating development agreements, construction agreements, architectural and other design agreements, leases, easements, restrictive covenants and other documentation.
- National and local tenant-side leasing work for clients across asset classes, including national restaurant, retail, industrial, office and data center clients, as well as landlord-side leasing work for institutional owners and investors across asset classes.

- Nationwide representation of institutional equity investor and managing member in joint-venture development of numerous facilities, including:
- Three-phase luxury mixed-use multifamily community in Santa Ana, Calif., with more than 1,200 apartment units, integrated retail space, a shared park and other shared amenities.
- Multiphase industrial park consisting of over 2 million rentable square feet on approximately 120 acres of land in Missouri.
- 42-story luxury high-rise multifamily community in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
- Two-tower 17-story mixed-use multifamily community with approximately 600 apartment units and ground-floor retail space, built atop a shared parking structure with a shared leasing office and other amenities, on a former brownfield site in White Plains, N.Y.
- 210-unit mixed-use luxury multifamily community with integrated full-service grocery store in St. Paul, Minn.
- 387-unit luxury multifamily community utilizing offsite affordable units in San Jose, Calif.
- Representation of an institutional investor in acquiring an approximately one-half interest in an existing five-property luxury multifamily portfolio in the California Bay Area from a public pension fund.
- Acquisition of various constructed multifamily, industrial, retail, senior living and office projects, with purchase prices in nine figure range.
- Arizona real estate and construction counsel for lenders and developers on numerous renewable energy projects within Arizona, including a 385MWac solar generation project and 250MWac/1000MWh battery energy storage project.
- Nationwide representation of REITs and property owners in leasing, acquisition, sales, development and other matters within various industries, including self-storage, car wash, retail, restaurant, senior living and medical office, amongst others.
- Counsel for publicly-traded and other owner/developer clients with respect to data center facilities with per-transaction land acquisition values in the nine figure range and development budgets in the 10-11 figure range.
- Leasing for national restaurant and retail clients and institutional landlords across asset classes.
