Claunick Duronville represents domestic and multinational corporations, individuals and governmental entities in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts. He handles all stages of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, settlement negotiations and trials as first chair. Claunick’s experiences spanning nonprofit, government and private sectors provides him with the skills to successfully assist clients on a wide variety of matters across industries. Experience in Action

  • Drafts, reviews and amends contracts on a wide range of commercial litigation matters. Clients turn to Claunick when they seek assistance with understanding contract terms, disputing ambiguous provisions or revising conditions to better serve their interests.
  • Conducts extensive motion practice. He has experience drafting all types of motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, post-trial memorandums, memorandums of law and appellate briefs.
  • Handles issues related to restraint of trade, including nonsolicitation and noncompetition claims.
  • Conducts trials and leads settlement negotiations. Claunick has successfully conducted trials as first chair while practicing in state courts and has led settlement conferences to resolution.

Successes

  • Played a prominent role on a litigation team for an international arbitral proceeding between two foreign corporations in a manufacturer-distributor dispute with over $100 million in damages claimed. His work handling discrete issues involving fiduciary duty liability and trade secret misappropriation was successful for the client and prevented an adverse judgment on those claims.
  • Regularly represents major financial institution clients in successfully obtaining judgments, enforcement and collection, as well as domesticating foreign judgment and arbitral awards.
