Illinois is the latest state to pass a law to streamline conducting discovery in cases that are pending in out-of-state jurisdictions.
Illinois now joins more than three dozen other states in enacting some form of the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act, which creates a simpler process for courts in one state to issue document and deposition subpoenas for out-of-state discovery.
