Working Mother Honors Quarles & Brady as One of the 2020 “Best Law Firms for Women"
Milwaukee — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Working Mother has named the firm as one of the 2020 "Best Law Firms for Women," in recognition of its best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers. In addition, Quarles & Brady has earned "Hall of Fame" status for being recognized for 10 years.
Quarles & Brady is among 60 firms that earned spots on this year’s list. Firms highlighted on the list averaged 23 percent women among new equity partners, with multicultural women making up 14 percent of equity partners. The recognized firms also offer extended parental-leave benefits and encourage lawyers to work remotely and use flexible hours.
"It is an honor to be recognized by Working Mother and inducted in the Hall of Fame for 10 years because of our firm's policies in supporting and promoting our female attorneys," said Darlene Austin, director, diversity, employee relations & corporate social responsibility. "Our female attorneys play a crucial role at the firm and we strive to improve our gender diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives every year."
The 2020 Working Mother "Best Law Firms for Women" application included more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women.
"We have worked diligently for a number of years to create not only policies and training efforts but also opportunities for our female attorneys to succeed in the competitive environment of private practice," said Kimberly Leach Johnson, partner and firm chair. "We are proud to be recognized for our efforts"
