Quarles Phoenix Land Use and Zoning Team Obtains Entitlements for Anton DevCo’s Multifamily Development Honored by City of Mesa as “Best Overall Development”

December 7, 2023 (Phoenix) – The Quarles & Brady Land Use, Zoning and Development team in Phoenix, led by Partner Ben Graff, spearheaded the effort to secure Anton DevCo’s necessary approvals from the City of Mesa for a new mixed-use multifamily and commercial development that recently was honored by the city’s planning department with an award for “Best Overall Development.”

Other members of the Quarles team on the project included Josh Mike, senior land use planner, and attorneys Jerry Morgan and Erica Williams, who both provided transactional real estate advice.

Quarles helped Anton DevCo secure a rezoning approval, Council Use Permit approval, site plan approval and design review approval.

The new high-quality mixed-use development on approximately 16.5 acres will feature eight residential buildings, with a maximum height of five-stories, for a total of 550 new apartment units along with a minimum of 30,000 square feet of retail/commercial space. Seven of the eight existing commercial buildings on the site will be demolished and replaced with new buildings that will meet the city's design guidelines.

The development has been carefully designed to not only be compatible with neighboring retail and restaurant businesses, but also maximize the walkability and opportunity for the new residents to patronize these businesses.
