Quarles & Brady Names Kevin Delorey and Derek Neathery to Lead Real Estate Group
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partner Kevin A. Delorey has been named national chair of the firm’s Real Estate practice group, and partner Derek T. Neathery will assume the role of vice-chair of the Real Estate practice group.
Delorey succeeds Diane M. Haller, who has served as the chair of the Real Estate practice group since 2011. The transition of leadership will take place over the course of several months and Haller will continue to focus on her real estate practice in the firm’s Phoenix office.
“Kevin is an experienced and knowledgeable real estate attorney who has served Quarles & Brady faithfully for three decades. His dedication to the firm’s strategy, clients, and success will make him an excellent leader and ensure the continued achievement of the group,” said Haller. “Both Kevin and Derek are well-respected members of the real estate community and will make a formidable team. I look forward to seeing them continue to drive the team’s purpose and direction.”
Delorey will continue to focus his practice on commercial real estate development, as well as design and construction contract drafting and negotiation. He is based in the Madison office, but splits his time across the Milwaukee, Chicago, and Tampa offices as well.
“Diane has been an outstanding leader for the Real Estate practice group, and I am grateful for her dedication to supporting and promoting the group,” Delorey said. “With the support of Derek, I look forward to assuming this new role and ensuring future growth and development of the practice.
Neathery joined the firm in 2013 as a partner in the Real Estate practice group in the Chicago office. His practice focuses on joint ventures, acquisitions, leasing, and development in a variety of transactions involving office, senior housing, retail, hotel, and multifamily assets across the country.
“I am excited by the opportunity to support and guide the future and direction of the Real Estate practice group with Kevin,” said Neathery. “Diane’s leadership was an instrumental part of the group’s success during her years of service and I am hopeful to continue to drive that success in the years to come.”
Delorey has received several recognitions for his work, including being named the Best Lawyers' 2011 Madison Real Estate Lawyer of the Year, as well as being named by The Best Lawyers in America® from 1995 – present.
