Quarles & Brady Madison Office Receives Seventh Circuit Bar Association 2019 Pro Bono Award
The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that the firm’s Madison office has been selected by the Seventh Circuit Bar Association as a 2019 Pro Bono Award recipient for Outstanding Pro Bono Work in the U.S. District Courts.
The annual award honors attorneys who have committed their time to exemplary pro bono work. For the past three years, a team of Madison Quarles & Brady attorneys have partnered with American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Wisconsin and the Juvenile Law Center to challenge and ultimately change deplorable conditions at Wisconsin’s two state-run juvenile correction facilities through class action litigation in the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. In addition, our attorneys have taken on at least one pro bono case a year in the Western District. Because of all of this work over the last several years, the Madison office was unanimously nominated for the award by all of the judges in the Western District.
“We are so honored to receive this prestigious award from the Seventh Circuit Bar Association,” said Emily Feinstein, chair of the Madison office commercial litigation group and Madison office pro bono coordinator. “Our attorneys are dedicated to providing pro bono legal services, but we would not be able to make these important contributions without the incredible support of the firm. This support allows our attorneys to put their passion and legal skills to work for those in need. I am very proud of our team's work and the support of our firm.”
The Madison office was recognized last night, May 6, in Milwaukee during a dinner at the 68th Annual Meeting of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and Judicial Conference of the Seventh Circuit. Retired Associate Justice, Hon. Anthony M. Kennedy, and Associate Justice, Hon. Brett M. Kavanaugh, of the United States Supreme Court were in attendance.
