News Release

Milwaukee — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is proud to announce its contribution to Legal Action of Wisconsin's new Milwaukee office through sponsorship of the Quarles & Brady Volunteer Lawyers Project Suite. Quarles & Brady has been a long-time supporter of Legal Action of Wisconsin through its pro bono efforts and financial support.

Legal Action of Wisconsin is Wisconsin's largest non-profit law firm, providing free civil legal services to Wisconsin clients who need a lawyer but cannot afford one. Clients include sexual assault survivors, victims of human trafficking, veterans fighting for their rights, people standing up to wrongful evictions, the elderly and people with disabilities, and more. For more than 50 years, Legal Action of Wisconsin has changed and improved lives by making sure the civil legal system works for everyone.

After 40 years at its old location, Legal Action of Wisconsin's new Milwaukee office is located in the Clark Building at 633 W Wisconsin Ave. The new space is a significant and modern upgrade from the old location and makes a statement about the civil legal aid movement and the dignity of its clients and their legal problems.

The Quarles & Brady Volunteer Lawyers Project Suite is a space that will be the hub of activity for volunteer pro bono attorneys, law students and clients.

"We are grateful for the support from Quarles & Brady and other firms that allows us to not only relocate to a modern and comfortable location but to continue our work providing civil legal services to those in need," said Deedee Peterson, executive director for Legal Action of Wisconsin. "We look forward to opening and welcoming the pro bono attorneys at Quarles & Brady to our new space."

Pro bono is an integral part of Quarles & Brady's culture. The firm’s commitment to outreach speaks to the values held in high regard by the firm and its attorneys. Quarles & Brady attorneys dedicated almost 21,000 hours of pro bono time to individuals and organizations in need during its 2020 fiscal year.
