Quarles & Brady Attorneys Named 2019 Legal Eagles by Franchise Times
Milwaukee — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partners Andrew Beilfuss, David Beyer, John Dienelt and Robert Smith have been named 2019 Legal Eagles by Franchise Times Magazine.

Beilfuss is the founder and national chair of the firm's top-ranked Franchise & Distribution practice group. He is a member of the firm's Milwaukee and Naples, Florida, offices. Beilfuss is a highly decorated attorney in franchise and distribution law. Known for business-minded solutions to complex legal issues, he is regularly sought out by clients to assist with numerous aspects of their business. Beilfuss has a diverse background, which includes extensive business education and background, transactional structuring and day to day counseling of franchise and distribution systems (both domestic and international), complex-drafting and regulatory advice, and a decade and a half of litigation and dispute avoidance experience, often on very high-stakes issues. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar School of Business and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School.
Beyer is a member of the firm's Tampa, Florida office and focuses his practice on organizing and structuring franchise and other distribution programs; negotiating and preparing complex franchise, sub-franchise and distribution agreements; and representing franchisors and subfranchisors in compliance with franchise disclosure and registration laws. He represents franchisors on technology-related issues, including website development, e-commerce, cybersquatting and channel conflict. Beyer received his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from Tulane University.
Dienelt is a member of the firm's Washington, D.C. office and focuses his practice in trial and appellate litigation, in franchising, antitrust, intellectual property and other commercial cases. He concentrates on complex and enterprise-threatening litigation including class actions. Dienelt has also represented private parties in disputes with the federal government before courts and administrative agencies. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, his Master of Arts from Tufts University–Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and his Bachelor of Laws from Yale University.
Smith is a member of the firm's Washington, D.C. office, specializing in representing U.S. franchisors expanding internationally and serving as franchise counsel in complex financial transactions, including whole business securitization transactions. He received his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, and his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America.
