Quarles Appoints Katie Muldoon National Chair of Estate, Trust & Wealth Preservation Practice Group
September 9, 2024 (Milwaukee) – Quarles & Brady LLP announced today that Katie Muldoon, a Milwaukee-based partner, will succeed Patrick Bitterman as national chair of the Estate, Trust & Wealth Preservation Practice Group, effective October 1.
Muldoon has helped drive the growth of the firm’s business succession planning work. A fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, she was named to the Wisconsin Law Journal “Power List” earlier this year and has been named Best Lawyers in America “Lawyer of the Year” for Milwaukee in Trusts and Estates (2023) and Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law (2022, 2024).
“As we approach a period that’s expected to see the largest intergenerational transfer of wealth in history, our T&E team is well positioned to meet the diverse needs of our clients to ensure their long-term goals are achieved.” said Muldoon. “We also have the ability to provide clients with savvy fiduciary litigation counsel when needed.”
Bitterman will continue his practice at Quarles, where he focuses on helping individuals, families, public charities and private foundations with estate planning, taxation and planned giving strategies.
“Katie was the obvious choice to help the team build on the momentum it has established under Patrick’s leadership over the last several years,” said Mike Aldana, firm president and chair of the governing Executive Committee. “Our Estate, Trust & Wealth Preservation team is full of people who have the experience to provide the thoughtful, knowledgeable counsel needed by high-wealth individuals and family-run businesses and are able to be by their side for the long haul. That’s a valuable combination for these clients.”
