Quarles and The Veterans Consortium Hosting Annual Veterans Day Pro Bono Attorney Training

News Release

Quarles & Brady LLP is partnering with The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (TVC) to once again host the annual Veterans Day training session to teach attorneys how to help veterans appeal unfavorable decisions by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The training is November 13 from 12:30-4 p.m. Eastern, both in person at the Quarles Washington, D.C., office and virtually via Webex. No expertise is required, and each volunteer will be assigned a TVC mentor. The training session is free but advance registration is required.

Any attorney interested in learning more about supporting veterans needs through TVC can register at this link.

In the training, which qualifies for continuing legal education credit, participants will learn how to help veterans with a variety of issues, including U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims practice and procedure, service-connected disability compensation, disability pension, dependency and indemnity compensation, the VA claims process, commonly raised VA errors on appeal, settlement issues and more.

“We are honored to do our part to support the TVC mission of ensuring that our country’s veterans get the care, benefits and compensation they were promised,” said Quarles Partner Tom McDonell, the firm’s lead in its long-standing relationship with TVC. “I encourage anyone looking for a way to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans to learn more through this training, especially given that TVC cases have a very high success rate.”
