News Release

Nick Meza, a Phoenix-based partner in the Quarles & Brady Health & Life Sciences Practice Group, has been named one of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s (MCCA) 2023 “Rising Stars.”

MCCA describes its annual “Rising Stars” list as recognizing “stellar attorneys whose accomplishments and dedication to the legal profession and to their community place them among those ‘attorneys to watch.’ … (T)hey all possess the love of law, ambition and pursuit of excellence while possessing compassion for those in need and a strong desire to give back to others.”

Meza has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) throughout his career. He is a mentor for the Los Abogados Pipeline Program, which connects both law students and undergrads considering law school with participating attorneys; co-chair of the firm’s Phoenix office recruiting committee; co-chair of the firm’s Hispanic business resource group; a member of the firm’s DEI committee; was a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinder class of 2017; and has been active in the firm’s diversity intern writing program, done in partnership with the Maricopa County Bar Association and the State Bar of Arizona.

In his nomination of Meza for this recognition, Cornell Boggs, of counsel and senior strategic advisor at Quarles, wrote: “He has become an especially effective leader because people quickly see that he treats everyone with respect, truly cares about others, is open to their ideas and input, and will have their back when things get challenging. Diligent, hard-working and humble at all times, Nick finds a way bring joy to those with whom he works.”
