Peter Spier Appointed for Second Term as Chair of Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee
Chicago — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Peter Spier, a partner in the firm's Business Law practice group, has been appointed for a second term as chair of the Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee for the 2021-22 bar year.
The Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee address issues pertaining to business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, restructurings and joint ventures, and the operation and formation of business entities. Committee meetings feature presentations by knowledgeable speakers and updates on legislative and case law developments.
Spier represents private equity funds and strategic buyers in structuring, negotiating and consummating their acquisitions and exit transactions. He also regularly serves as outside general counsel to middle-market and early-stage companies, acting as an experienced and trusted advisor and point person for all of said clients' legal needs. In each of the past five years (2017-21), Spier has been named as "Illinois Leading Lawyer" by Law Bulletin Media in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Securities & Venture Finance, Gaming & Casino Law and Privately Held Business Law.
