Patent Attorney Wei Yan Joins Quarles & Brady's Chicago Office as Senior Counsel

Chicago — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that patent attorney Wei Yan has joined the firm's Chicago office as senior counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Yan prosecutes domestic and international patents with a focus in life science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, foods, and health and consumer products. He also provides counsel in freedom-to-operate opinions, and patent due diligence.

Yan's experience includes preparing, drafting, and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications regarding small molecule pharmaceuticals, bioactive molecules, chemical compositions, and manufacture processes. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, his Doctor of Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Arts from Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
