Partners Steven Hunter and Theodore Yi Selected as Crain’s Chicago Business 2019 Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law
Chicago — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Partners Steven Hunter and Theodore Yi have been selected as Crain’s Chicago Business 2019 Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law.
Crain's Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting & Law features a group of executives within the Chicago-area who are leaders in their field, who mentor other accountants, consultants and attorneys, and who give back to their community in significant ways.
Theodore Yi is a member of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group and focuses his practice in wide range of commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on commercial lease transactions representing both owners and users of office, retail, and industrial properties, including technically complex space such as trading floors and data centers. Yi holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
Yi showcases his passion for diversity, inclusion and mentorship as a current member, and former board member, of the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago and the National Asian Pacific Bar Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms. In 2017, Yi was named a Star Mentor of the Year at Quarles & Brady.
Steven Hunter is a trial lawyer who represents companies as lead counsel at arbitration, mediation, jury trial, bench trial and appeals in the U.S. and abroad. His clients include financial institutions, international manufacturing companies, private companies, construction companies, landlords, tenants, entertainers and professional athletes. Hunter received his Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Hunter is an advocate for inclusion at Quarles and beyond. He currently serves as Co-Chair of Quarles & Brady's National Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which creates opportunities to ensure inclusion among firm attorneys and staff. In addition, he serves on the boards of: The Northeast Illinois Council of the Boyscouts of America (General Counsel); Leadership Advisory Committee of the Art Institute of Chicago (Co-chair and ex officio Trustee); Chicago Child Care Society; Museum of Science and Industry (President’s Council) and the Delta Research and Education Fund.
