Melanie Kalmanson Teaching Class on Florida Capital Punishment at Florida State University College of Law

Attorney Melanie Kalmanson, a member of the Quarles & Brady Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Tampa, is teaching a class on Florida capital punishment at Florida State University College of Law this semester as an adjunct professor.

Kalmanson has lined up guest speakers for the class that include a former Florida Supreme Court justice and a Florida death row exoneree.

Kalmanson is a member of the Steering Committee for the American Bar Association’s Death Penalty Representation Project (DPRP). The DPRP is the ABA’s authority on issues related to the defense effort in death penalty cases. Since 1986, its singular focus has been to improve the quality and availability of legal representation for persons facing possible death sentences.
