News Release

October 23, 2023 (Phoenix) – Leonardo Loo, a Quarles & Brady partner and member of the firm’s executive committee, was honored by Chicanos Por La Cause (CPLC) with the organization’s 2023 Cause for Change Award.

A former CPLC board chair, Loo was recognized for his unwavering commitment to excellence, service and community engagement. The organization said he serves as an example for others, including Latinos and Asian Americans, as he advocates to empower others throughout the community.

“Working together, Leonardo and Chicanos Por La Causa have helped build stronger communities and paved the way for other business leaders to make an impact in the communities in which they operate,” said Alicia Nuñez, interim president and CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa. “We are a better, stronger organization because of leaders like Leonardo who are committed to empowering lives.”

He was honored at an event October 20 in Phoenix.

Chicanos Por La Causa has grown to be one of the largest nonprofits in the country since being formed in 1969 by a small group of Arizona students and activists. Today, CPLC has over 30 programs in health and human services, education, housing, economic development and advocacy that impact more than 2 million lives across the Southwest.

“Chicanos Por La Causa and I share a common goal to provide opportunities for everyone to grow and succeed. We recognize that empowering individuals starts with investing in and serving the people in our communities,” said Loo. “During my time as a CPLC board chair, I saw the decades of legacy and advocacy within the CPLC family. I am honored to continue this legacy that honors our roots for a better future as a 2023 Cause for Change honoree.”
