Kaplan Appointed to the University of Chicago Law School Visiting Committee
CHICAGO, Ill. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Chicago partner, James Kaplan has been appointed to the University of Chicago Law School Visiting Committee.
Kaplan will serve a three-year term running until Fall 2019, serving as a member of the primary advisory and oversight committee. The appointment is made by the University's Board of Trustees, which consists of fifty-five alumni and honorary members. "I'm very honored to be appointed to this prestigious committee," said Kaplan. "The University of Chicago Law School is one of our nation's top law schools and I'm proud to call it my alma mater."
Kaplan is a member of the firm's Business Law Practice Group, where he focuses his practice in financial services, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional and regulatory matters, as well as banking, compliance, data privacy and information security, financial services litigation, and shareholder and governance matters. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
