John Hughes Joins Quarles & Brady's Commercial Litigation Practice Group
CHICAGO — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that John Hughes has joined the firm's Chicago office as partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group with a focus in Franchise & Distribution.
Hughes has nearly 20 years of experience representing franchisors and manufacturers in numerous industries in federal and state courts and alternative dispute resolution forums throughout the United States. He regularly represents clients in actions involving claims for breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, tortious interference with contract, fraud, consumer fraud, encroachment, employee misclassification, joint employment, and trademark infringement.
His practice also involves franchisee termination issues and the enforcement of post-termination covenants, and counseling clients on other issues they often confront, including enforcement of system standards and managing relationships with franchisees and distributors.
Hughes received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The George Washington University and his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.
