Four Quarles & Brady Attorneys Named 2016 Legal Eagles by Franchise Times
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partners Andrew P. Beilfuss, David A. Beyer, John F. Dienelt, and Jeffrey H. Wolf have been named 2016 Legal Eagles by Franchise Times magazine.
Legal Eagle honorees are attorneys who are viewed as the best franchise lawyers; at the top of their games; and are nominated by their peers, clients, and the Franchise Times’ editorial board as the rainmakers, go-to lawyers, and ethical problem solvers in the franchise community. They speak at industry events and legal symposiums, write seamless contracts and documents, win court cases and meet the evaluation criteria of the Franchise Times editorial panel. This year, 171 lawyers in the U.S. were named and will be featured in the April issue of Franchise Times magazine.
Beilfuss practices in the firm’s Milwaukee office and the Chair of the firm's national Franchise, Distribution, and Direct Sales practice.. He has a multi-disciplinary practice, which focuses heavily on litigation and regulatory compliance in the franchise and distribution context. Andy also has extensive business education and experience and frequently advises clients on daily operational issues, dispute avoidance, contract drafting, and statutory compliance. Beilfuss is the founder and chair of the International Franchise Association's Wisconsin Franchised Business Network, and was twice elected to the governing body for the State Bar of Wisconsin. He has been named a Franchise Times "Legal Eagle" on multiple occasions, recognized as a "Rising Star" in Franchise and Distribution Law and Business Litigation by Wisconsin Super Lawyers® magazine and as one of 20 "Up and Coming" attorneys in the State of Wisconsin by The Wisconsin Law Journal. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Beyer is managing partner of the firm’s Tampa office and is a member of the Franchise & Distribution Team. He focuses his practice on organizing and structuring franchise and other distribution programs; negotiating and preparing complex franchise, sub-franchise and distribution agreements; and representing franchisors and subfranchisors in compliance with franchise disclosure and registration laws. He represents franchisors on technology-related issues, including website development, e-commerce, cybersquatting and channel conflict. He advises franchise companies on supplier matters, relationship issues and mergers and acquisitions. Beyer has been selected consistently for several years for inclusion in the International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers by Who’s Who Legal, and for over 10 years each for The Best Lawyers in America® and Florida Super Lawyers® lists. In 2013, he was named to Chambers USA® for franchising. A member of The Franchise Times Legal Eagles Hall of Fame, he also is an IFA Certified Franchise Executive. As a leader in the development of franchise law in Florida, he has served multiple terms as chairman of the Franchise Law Committee of The Florida Bar. Beyer earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Tulane University.
Dienelt is a member of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is a litigator with 30 years of trial and appellate experience, particularly in franchise, antitrust, intellectual property and other commercial cases. He concentrates on complex and enterprise-threatening litigation, including class actions. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® consistently since 2003 for Franchise Law, was named a Best Lawyers® 2014 Washington, D.C. Franchise Law “Lawyer of the Year” and was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers® list for Franchise/Dealership. He speaks regularly at programs on franchising and teaches franchise law as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and at the University of Virginia Law School. He earned his law degree from Yale Law School, his master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.
Wolf is a member of the Franchise & Distribution Team in the firm’s Phoenix office. For nearly 30 years, Wolf has regularly represented franchisors, manufacturers, and marketers of products and services in a wide range of legal matters. He has extensive experience handling cases involving contract disputes, employment disputes, trade secret misappropriation, and trademark infringement, and he frequently speaks and publishes articles on related topics. Wolf also serves as outside general counsel to several Phoenix-based behavioral health care companies. He has been listed as a Legal Eagle by Franchise Times magazine each year since 2004 and in The Best Lawyers in America® and Southwest Super Lawyers® each year since 2007, and was recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers® as one of the Top 50 attorneys in Arizona in 2012 and 2013. He earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford.
