Ed Holloran to Present at Indiana Judicial Conference 2016 Annual Meeting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partner, Ed Holloran of the Indianapolis office will present, as part of a panel of attorneys and judges, to the Indiana Judicial Conference at its 2016 Annual Meeting at the French Lick Springs Resort & Hotel in French Lick, Indiana on September 14, 2016. The presentation is titled: "Collateral Source—The Rule, Stanley v. Walker, Patchett v. Lee, and The Affordable Care Act."  

This presentation will cover the Collateral Source Rule from common law to its statutory modification by IC 34-44-1-2. The panel will discuss the progression of the Collateral Source Rule through the Stanley v. Walker decision, which allows into evidence private health insurance write-offs and adjustments; the recent Patchett v. Lee case, which discusses the inadmissibility of governmental insurance discounts or adjustments; and the Affordable Care Act and its effect on future damages, including Life Care Plans.

Holloran is a member of the firm's Health Law Practice Group. He represents clients in the fields of long-term care, pharmacy, medicine, construction, and engineering. He focuses on health care and pharmacy litigation, health care and pharmacy regulatory, all aspects of long-term care, professional licensing and liability, product liability, and general tort and business litigation.
