Attorney Scott Watson Selected as "Volunteer of the Year" by Legal Aid Chicago for Contributions to William J. Hibbler Memorial Pro Se Federal Court Help Desk
Chicago — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady today announced that attorney D. Scott Watson has been selected by Legal Aid Chicago as a “Volunteer of the Year” because of his outstanding contributions to the organization’s William J. Hibbler Memorial Pro Se Federal Court Help Desk.
Legal Aid Chicago offers complimentary representation in civil legal matters for clients who lack the resources to hire an attorney of their own. Through litigation and advocacy, Legal Aid Chicago’s team fights to secure individual rights to affordable housing, basic healthcare, fair working conditions, protection from abuse and economic stability. The Hibbler Pro Se Federal Court Help Desk offers free help to individuals seeking advice and assistance on cases in federal courthouses in Illinois.
"This is well deserved recognition of Scott’s commitment to supporting the important efforts of Legal Aid Chicago," said Eric Ledbetter, Chicago office managing partner. "At Quarles & Brady, we recognize that there is a substantial gap between those who need legal representation and those who can access it. Scott is more than doing his part to address that gap.”
The “Volunteer of the Year” selections will be honored during Legal Aid Chicago’s virtual Spring Social, a volunteer appreciation event, on Friday, April 16.
