Andre Fiebig quoted in article "Attys React To UK's Historic Decision To Leave EU"
Below is an excerpt:
Andre Fiebig, Quarles & Brady LLP
“Even assuming that the U.K. Parliament decides to formally secede from the EU — something that has never been done nor is contemplated by the EU Treaties — the commercial advantages of the current relationship can be secured through the negotiations of separate treaties similar to those between the EU and Switzerland, which never joined the EU but still enjoys many of the benefits of membership. Moreover, the U.K. was never part of the Eurozone. The referendum will, however, likely have an impact on the financial services industry as the U.K. will likely follow a different regulatory path than continental Europe.”
