Quarles' Annual Legal Ethics Seminar Webinar Replay

Webinar
 | 12 - 3:30 p.m. Central

Please join Quarles for a CLE-eligible replay of our 2023 year-end Legal Ethics Seminar featuring three, hour-long ethics CLE presentations.

Our 2023 program considered legal ethics in relation to the following topics:

  • Who is Your Judge? Ethical Traps in Litigation

Presented by: Dan Conley, Shauna Manion, and Julia Wischmeier

Ethical traps often spring up in the course of litigation, including questions regarding payment to a witness beyond an expert witness fee, inadvertent disclosure, communications with a shareholder of a corporate opponent, conditions of settlement, false testimony from a witness, and contact with adversaries on social media.  It is sometimes difficult to predict how different judges and jurisdictions will react in these scenarios, and this session will provide a practical approach to making the choices that are best for your client.

  • Ethical Considerations for Business Law Attorneys

Presented by: Margaret Utterback, Morgan Hines, and Liz Lacey

Attorneys practicing business law face numerous ethical considerations in their transactional practice. This session will use real-life examples and hypotheticals to explore the ethical traps an attorney may face in their transactional practice, with a focus on potential pitfalls when negotiating agreements and communicating with the opposing party.

  • Legal Ethics Meets Generative AI Tools; What You Should Be Thinking About

Presented by: Stacy Alexejun, Zac Foster, and Johanna Wilbert

The fast-evolving and emerging field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents lawyers and their clients with new legal and ethical challenges and it is important that attorneys keep up with this rapidly evolving technology and how they and their clients are using it. While the applications of AI are vast and evolving quickly, this session will address the likely ethical implications arising from AI in fields of litigation intellectual property now, and in the future.

Advance registration is required.
