Steve Gardner and Heather Buchta will be presenting at the AUTM Annual Meeting 2025 on March 3. Their presentation titled, "Non-profit, Non-private? The Pros (and Cons) of How Privacy Laws Exempt Non-profits," will discuss a variety of state, U.S. Federal, EU and other privacy laws that can apply to research data and biomaterials, including provisions that can exempt nonprofits. The panel will then explore some hypothetical scenarios in which a non-profit may nonetheless still need to (or want to) comply, in order to facilitate collaboration with a covered entity.
