Labor & Employment Breakfast Series | Can't We All Just Get Along? Workplace Violence and Bullying and Its Impact On Employers
Time:
8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and Registration
8:30 - 10:00 a.m. Program
Program Overview: Unfortunately, workplace violence and bullying have become larger concerns for employers and employees alike. Not only are employers expected to ensure a professional work environment where all employees "play nice," but they are also expected to anticipate and take measures to prevent a disgruntled employee, patient, customer or simply someone in the community attempting to or engaging in violence in the workplace. Quarles & Brady will provide a breakfast seminar providing helpful guidance related to:
- Legal issues related to workplace violence:
-
- OSHA's recent emphasis on workplace violence
- EEOC’s recent enforcement efforts to remedy bullying and intimidation in the workplace
- Workplace violence issues in a union setting
- Recent state and local efforts to regulate workplace bullying
-
- Best practices to both comply with the law and prevent and appropriately respond to workplace violence
Registrations must be received by Friday, March 18, 2016.
Who Should Attend? This seminar is designed for in-house counsel, human resources professionals, and other interested executives.
We will apply for 1.5 hours of continuing legal education credit in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We will issue a Certificate of Attendance to Arizona attendees as the State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement.
If you are member of another jurisdiction that does not honor CLE credit from AZ, FL, IL, IN, VA, or WI, we will be happy to provide the materials needed in order for you to apply for CLE credit. Please contact Donna Key, our CLE Coordinator, at donna.key@quarles.com.
