Accessibility For the Disabled: Combatting the Cottage Industry of ADA Lawsuits
Program Overview:
With the new administration's reluctance to pass additional regulations, businesses should not expect assistance from the federal government in combatting the rising number of lawsuits alleging relatively minor or technical violations of Title III of the Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA"). In many states, lawsuits are filed by a small number of plaintiffs, admittedly serving as "testers" who search for businesses with ADA violations.
The presenters provided practical advice for all businesses, from those operating a single-location retail space to a large, national chain and everything in between.
