A Busy Intersection: The Convergence of DEI, Ethics, and Performance Management … and the Potholes of Unconscious Bias
Webinar Only
Program Description:
In a fireside chat format, Of Counsel and Senior Strategic Advisor Cornell Boggs engaged with leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion expert, author and consultant Kathleen Nalty in a discussion of timely DEI topics, many of which have come to the forefront as a result of the past summer of racial unrest and the ensuing national discussion. While not new at all of our corporations, in-house counsel and their legal departments are being tasked to do their part as these conversations continue. Moving beyond the headlines, we took a deeper dive to offer insights on legal department best practices, particularly as it relates to addressing unconscious bias. We explored how having good performance management processes for all employees can have a positive impact on DEI efforts, as well as how this topic intersects with ethics commitments, practices and obligations for those in the legal profession.
